Help Our Ukrainian Guest Rebuild Her Life
Donation protected
As you watch the news, do you wish you could do something to help innocent Ukrainians during this heinous attack? Here's your chance to make a difference and become an active supporter of those directly affected by the war in their homeland.
We have taken in a Ukrainian refugee who fled her home during the bombings and literally escaped with the clothes on her back and Kotya, her beloved cat. Now she needs your support to help rebuild her life with any amount you can contribute.
Her story is incredible. Escaping the bombing of her town, she fled to Poland, where a "host family" took her in and immediately confiscated her papers and attempted to make her their house "slave." She soon escaped to Mexico, and while on the streets alone with her cat, whatever meager personal items she accumulated were stolen. However, she's incredibly intelligent and determined and filed all of the legal paperwork to come and stay in the US, which she was granted on April 23rd (the last day the US accepted refugees.) She wouldn't quit.
Now, we've taken her in to stay with us because our life in Southern California will never see the horrors and hardships like those experienced by the Ukrainian people. We are offering her a safe and comfortable living arrangement, and while we are prepared to continue to house, feed, and support her, she needs more than we can provide in the immediate future. Therefore, 100% of the funds raised will go directly to her for future living arrangements, including an apartment, food, clothes, finding work, etc. So, while we are currently providing 100% support, and it's been an incredible experience, we know it's not a long-term solution.
Ask yourself if you, your family, your children, or your friend was forced to flee for their lives and end up halfway around the world, would random strangers be there to help? So let's show her and all the innocent victims of this atrocity that Americans are here and willing to make a difference. And if you were looking to donate to just one woman and one cat, please make it these two.
Thank you,
