I, Jenny, have known Danya (Daniel) since he was born. His parents, Anya and Bogdan, are my closest friends in Ukraine and were even in our wedding. Anya and Bogdan oversee Safe Haven, the ministry home for orphans that I founded in Kyiv, and are faithful caregivers to so many kids (now grown young adults).

In the first days of the war, Danya, his siblings (both biological and foster) and their mom, Anya, fled Ukraine to safety in neighboring Czechia. Danya’s dad, Bogdan, could not leave the country as he is military age. Bogdan has remained in Kyiv caring for people who are in great need and delivering aid to the front lines of the war.

In Czechia, Danya finished high school which was interrupted by war and has been working, doing manual labor on a farm. Now, with his high school education complete, Danya's desire is to become an EMT/Paramedic. He has seen the great need for emergency medical care and wants to be able to serve. Earlier this fall, Andrew and I applied to the Uniting for Ukraine program on behalf of Danya.

Danya has been approved to come to the US under the Uniting for Ukraine visa program! He will live with Andrew and I while in the US. At first, he will take some classes to improve his English, but once he has a good handle on his English, he will enroll in an EMT training program here in Abilene, Texas.

Obviously, Danya needs our help. He is a hard working young man and we believe in him. We want to invite those who know (and even those who do not know him) Danya to join us in helping him get the education that he needs in order to serve his country in the future.

Would you help me bring Danya to Texas? I am hoping to raise $8,000 which will cover his plane ticket from Czechia to Texas, a computer for his educational needs, tuition for the EMT program, phone and some basic needs. Danya fled Ukraine with not very much.
