Help Our Trans Love Story Continue: Relocating to Canada
Goal: $5,000 for Moving Expenses & Immigration Fees
My partner and I are facing a difficult but necessary decision. Due to the increasingly hostile political climate and specific policy threats targeting the trans community in the United States, she has made the choice to relocate to Canada where we can build a safer life together and eventually marry. The current administration's targeted attacks on trans and queer rights have created a genuine climate of fear that has become impossible to ignore, particularly affecting her daily safety and mental health.
For us, this move isn't just about escaping hostility—it's about creating a future where we can both exist authentically, marry legally, and build the life we deserve without constant fear. As two BIPOC trans individuals who found love and understanding in each other, we've already overcome so many obstacles together. This move isn't just about our relationship; it's about her fundamental safety and well-being as a Black trans person.
The funds raised will directly cover:
- Professional moving services to transport her belongings across the border to my home in Canada
- Canadian permanent residency application fees
- Initial settlement costs as we establish our shared home
As members of the 2SLGBTQ+ community, we've both experienced firsthand how powerful solidarity can be in difficult times. Any contribution, regardless of size, brings us closer to reuniting permanently and building the safe, loving future we deserve together.
For my partner, this relocation represents both an escape from growing hostility and the beautiful beginning of our life together without borders between us. For me, it means finally being able to provide her the safety my country offers and moving forward with our plans to marry.
