On Friday, October 6th 2023 I was rushed to the ER due to me hemorrhaging uncontrollably. Which resulted in an emergency C-Section. Thus our beautiful baby Violet was born 3 1/2 months premature.
Violet Lynnette 10/06/2023 9:36pm 1 lb 9oz 11.5 inches long (we were told 15 inches but that was incorrect!)
Currently baby is in the NICU in downtown Houston and is due to be there until late Jan early Feb. 2024! She is now 1lb 14oz and is 13’’ long!

Due to the baby being down town and such all donations will be going towards parking, traveling, hospital/Dr bills and all preemie baby needs.

10/25/23 Update: Violet is .5oz away from TWO POUNDS YALL! This is a huge step in the right direction! Currently eating 15 ML! We changed ventilators this week, and currently at 50% oxygen. She tested positive for MRSA last week (only on her skin) and she contracted it in the hospital. BUT she is currently receiving antibiotics and we will retest her in a week or so. Her X-rays look good as last week her lungs were over inflated, but the new vent has helped! Keep the prayers coming y’all!
10/26/23 Update: Today was a rough day. We lost a little bit of weight today, but to be expected. Our oxygen is at 55% and we had to have another blood transfusion today. Our pick line was removed last week but due to the amount of labs being ran we spent the majority of today reinserting another. They found 3 different bacteria in her urine and we are currently waiting for the results, along with an abscess was found and drained today that came back positive for MRSA. Waiting to see if it’s meds resistant or not. Currently on lots of antibiotics, and we will wait to see what tomorrow holds. Keep them prayers coming y’all!
10/28/23 Update: WE MADE IT TO 2lbs 2oz y’all! Our oxygen remains 50-55% and our feedings are 17ML! Cultures, X-rays and blood gas will be repeated tomorrow, but for now antibiotics and rest! KEEP THEM PRAYERS COMING!
11/2/23 Update: Violet is 2 pounds 2.3oz! Up to 17 ML feedings, X-rays and blood gas looks good today! We will run another urine culture on Sunday and check her kidneys on Monday as a precaution. Keep them prayers coming y’all!

11/6/23 Update: We are 2 pounds 5 ounces Our feedings are 20 ML Oxygen usuage is low 30’s% Kidney Function looks great, and depending on our urine culture results tomorrow, we may be done with antibiotics! Please keep the prayers coming y’all as our Tiny Titan will keep fighting! 
11/11/23 Update: WE HAVE OFFICIALLY GAINED A FULL POUND! We weigh 2 pounds and 9 ounces Our vent has changed to a regular one (we were on the jet) and our oxygen is in the low 40’s. We completed our antibiotics, and no more UTI! Now we are focusing on our enlarged PDA (which is smaller than it was) and getting rid of this MRSA. Our feedings are at 21ML and yesterday we started the process with the March of Dimes to get our Journey Beads! Thank you for everyone’s continued thoughts and prayers, keep em coming!
11/17/23 Update: ‼️ HAPPY WORLD PREMATURITY DAY ‼️ Today marks 42 days on our NICU journey! Violet is doing good, and she keeps fighting! She weighs, 2 pounds 12.6oz, and is on 30% oxygen. Feedings are 23 ML (25 calories) and her sodium a little low (adding some to her feedings) her blood levels (27) kinda low, but okay. Her ri tic count is (21) showing body is trying to make blood and her PDA still there but moderate. We still have many more days, but she’s got this! Keep the prayers coming y’all!
12/1/23 Update: Happy 8 weeks Violet! Day 56 of our NICU journey! Today we are having our heart surgery to close our PDA, prayers up for our Tiny Titan! We are 3 pounds, 8 ounces, and we are holding steady! She is a fighter y’all! 9:15 AM Update: Her labs this morning came back with her white blood cell count elevated, so they are fearful she may have an infection. They are running more tests and if everything is okay we will proceed with the surgery today. If not, we will need to push it to Monday. 11:30 AM Update: Surgery has been rescheduled to Monday. Keep them prayers coming y’all!
12/10/23 Update: Day 65 of our NICU journey. Violet is weighing at 3 pounds 11 ounces and officially on 1 oz feedings! Her labs came back all clear for surgery to be done, so we are scheduled for first thing tomorrow. Prayers for our Tiny Titan y’all!
12/15/23 Update: HAPPY 10 Weeks Violet! Day 70 on our NICU journey! This week has been extremely rough, Violet has been sedated since her surgery Monday and is relying on her vent 100%. She continues to fight and hopefully by this time next week we can see some changes! Her feedings have stopped since she is sedated, but she continues to grow! We lost a little bit of weight, but is 3lbs, 8oz. Y’all keep those prayers coming for our Tiny Titan!
12/29/23 Violet Update: 84 days on our NICU journey! It’s been very rough since our surgery, we have been in a medically induced coma since 12/11, and each of her lungs have collapsed a few times. They have been giving her meds to help with the pain, and holding her feeds until we get our oxygen down. Currently we are depending on the vent 100%, ITS BEEN TOUGH YALL. But today, I am happy to report…we have officially made it to 5 pounds y’all! Specifically 5 pounds, 3 ounces AND WE CAN START WEARING CLOTHES! Her echo was repeated today to check on her PDA, and her X-RAYS look good! By tonight we will officially be out of our enclosed incubator and into an open one! THIS GIRL IS A FIGHTER YALL! KEEP THE PRAYERS COMING, IT’S WORKING!
1/9/24 Violet Update: Day 95 on our NICU journey! We OFFICIALLY CAN HAVE MILK AGAIN! We also have GAINED A FULL FOUR POUNDS SINCE BIRTH! Now at 5 pounds,9 ounces! After ALMOST A MONTH our oxygen is down from 100% to 75%! We are so proud of how much she has grown and continues to fight! Thank you all for your prayers!
1/14/24: Violet Update: OMG! Violet’s oxygen dependence has maintained about 40%-50% for 24 hours, after being at 100% for a month. The hospital called me this afternoon and said that they see no reason, as long as she continues to stay stable this week that… WE GET TO HOLD HER FOR THE FIRST TIME NEXT SATURDAY! (HER DUE DATE 1/20/24) I literally cannot put into words how ELATED WE ARE! Edit: I’m also realizing that today marks 100 days on our NICU Journey! What a perfect gift for such a hard milestone!
1/20/24 Violet Update: HAPPY DUE DATE VIOLET! Day 106 of our NICU Journey! What a wonderful day it is! We got to hold our 6 pound bundle of joy FOR THE FIRST TIME! We are at 81% oxygen and full feeds at 55 ML! This has been the craziest, hardest thing we have ever done, but today made everything worth it! Y’all keep praying for our Tiny Titan!
1/31/24 Violet Update: Day 117 on our NICU journey! We are 6 pounds, 7 ounces, eating 59ML and 18 inches long! Our oxygen is sitting 40’s-50’s, and we are growing like a weed! Blue eyes anyone?! Keep the prayers coming y’all!
2/6/24 Violet Update: Day 123 on our NICU journey! HAPPY FOUR MONTHS VIOLET! We are weighing in at 7 pounds, 9 ounces! Our feeds are 57ML and our oxygen is sitting about 50%-60%. We are wearing newborn clothes, and we love to be swaddled! Keep the prayers coming y’all!
2/10/24 Violet Update: Day 127 on our NICU journey! Our oxygen is between 28%-35%. We are 7 pounds, 5 ounces. Currently eating 57 ML. Keep praying for our #TinyTitan!
2/17/24 Violet Update: Day 134 on our NICU journey! We are 19 weeks and 1 day weighing in at 7 pounds, 9 ounces! Our oxygen is 20’s-30’s and if this trend continues, next week we can start talking about extubation! Keep praying y’all and stay blessed!
2/24/24 Violet Update: Day 141 on our NICU journey! We are OFFICALLY 8 pounds, 1 ounce! Our oxygen is at 40%, and we are eating 62 ML! Please continue the prayers y’all, as she continues to grow so strong!
3/2/24 Violet Update: Day 148 on our NICU journey! We are weighing in at 8 pounds 8 ounces, almost 18 inches long, and eating 66ML! Our oxygen is sitting at 40’s, and no change to our meds or breathing treatments all week! We love watching projections on the ceiling and we MUST HAVE our fan on AT ALL TIMES. 3/6/24 Violet Update: Day 152 on our NICU Journey! HAPPY 5 MONTHS VIOLET! We are 8 pounds 11 ounces, and eating 62 ML. Our oxygen has spiked the last few days but we are hopeful! Keep the prays coming y’all!
3/23/24 Violet Update: Day 169 on our NICU journey! We have officially made it to the 10 pound mark weighing in at 10 pounds, 2 ounces! We are eating 78 ML every three hours, and our oxygen is at 38%! Still no time yet when she will be home, but we are on the right track! Keep the prayers coming y’all!
4/6/24 Violet Update: HAPPY 6 MONTHS VIOLET! Day 183 on our NICU journey! We are 11 pounds, 4 ounces, and FIESTY YALL! We tried to take her tube out this week, but it was unsuccessful. The pulmonary team is gonna discuss our next steps sometime early next week. Keep them prayers coming for our Tiny Titan y’all!
4/24/24 Violet Update: Day 201 on our NICU journey! We are 12 pounds, 13 ounces and eating almost 4 ounces! Our oxygen is 20’s-30’s, and she loves to listen to music! A few weeks ago when we were unsuccessful in her extubation, we found out her airway was collapsed 90-95% on both sides -preventing her from being able to take a breath on her own. Tomorrow we will be having surgery to place a trach (reversible once she can breathe on her own) and a g tube for feeding (also reversible) Prayers up for our Tiny Titian y’all! Hopefully after tomorrow, we start to see the dependence on the vent decrease and on the path to having her home!
4/25/24 Violet Update: Day 202 on our NICU Journey! Our surgery took longer than expected, but everything went well! We have a long road to recovery, and we will change the trach out for the first time next week for a new one. For now, we rest. Keep our Tiny Titian in your prayers!
5/4/24 Violet Update: Day 211 on our NICU journey! We are 13 pounds and 15 ounces, and 2ft tall! Eating 103 ML every 3 hours, and we spent all afternoon lifting our head and looking around! Still no timeframe on her being home, but we are ready when she is! Y’all keep those prayers coming!
5/18/24 Violet Update: Day 225 on our NICU journey! STEP ONE ✅ WE ARE OFFICALLY AT 21% STEP TWO: Monday, we make the transition to our home vent! STEP THREE: Andrew and I take our Medical Courses to prepare us for our home transition! WE ARE AT THE COUNT DOWN PEOPLE! ….SHE IS ALMOST HOME!
5/25/24 Violet Update: Day 232 on our NICU journey! We are 14 pounds 3 ounces and eating 103ML! We are on day four of the home vent and our oxygen is at 30% Today we got to sit her in a high chair for the first time, and during her diaper change we definitely bonded…SHE PEED ON ME THREE TIMES Her little personality is starting to show, AND THE FACES Keep sending love and prayers yall!
6/6/24 Violet Update: Day 244 on our NICU journey! HAPPY 8 MONTHS VIOLET! We are staying strong on our 21% oxygen, slowly coming off our medications, and we have changed her breathing treatments to every 12 hours vs the 8 hours we have been! She has increased to 111 ML feeds, and she weighs 15lbs, 1oz! We are constantly being told how BEAUTIFUL HER EYES ARE! AND HOW MUCH THE NURSES LOVE TO PLAY WITH HER! Keep sending love!
6/26/24 Violet Update: Day 264 on our NICU journey! Today we got to see Violet in a bouncer for the first time. Our oxygen is 21% and we are 15 lbs, 6 oz! We love music, sticking our tounge out, and chewing on fingers! (EVERYONES ) Please keep praying for our Tiny Titan!
7/5/24 Violet Update: Day 271 on our NICU journey! Violet is 15 pounds, 5 oz. Oxygen is at 21% and we are eating 116 ML! She is thriving y’all! Always alert and loves crinkle toys! Our classes yesterday covered the hands on portion of trach care and how to manually bag Violet. Sometimes while on the vent Violet can “clamp down” (strain) preventing her chest wall from rising and as a result it restricts her ventilation and oxygen. This can occur at random, or when she becomes extremely agitated or upset, and truly my biggest fear of this whole process. (Besides changing the trach out) Yesterday was the most educational and scariest class yet, but MY HUSBAND KILLED IT! He did each step with confidence and with a smile the whole time! He definitely helped calm us girls. Everyday we get a little more comfortable than the day before, and that’s all you can ask for! Y’all keep praying
7/9/24 Violet Update: Day 275 on our NICU journey! AND HAPPY BELATED 9 MONTHS VIOLET! (We turned 9 months this past Saturday) We are 16 pounds 3 ounces, and happy as ever! Tonight’s class focused on trach care and as you can see, Violet was not amused! Lots more boxes to check before she is home, but we are getting closer! Keep the love coming y’all!
7/19/24 Violet Update: Day 285 on our NICU journey! We are 16 pounds 6 ounces and BEAUTIFUL! She loves chewing on her hands, looking at herself in the mirror and her mobile! Today, was easier than yesterday and tomorrow will be even better! Keep the prayers coming!
7/24/24 Violet Update: Day 292 on our NICU journey! We are 16lbs,12oz and VERY AWARE OF OUR LEGS! Tonight was our first time to change out her trach with ZERO issues! Violet was very content and even practically falling asleep! Keep the prayers coming y’all, and I hope everyone enjoys this video has much as we do!
8/4/24 Violet Update! Day 303 on our NICU journey! Violet is 16 pounds, 15 ounces and eating 6 oz every four hours! She continues to grow so strong! Next week is CPR training and in the near future brother will FINALLY GER TO MEET HER! Keep sending the love y’all!
8/10/24 Violet Update: Day 310 on our NICU journey! TODAY WE MET BROTHER! Both kids were unsure of one another, and OF COURSE first thing Sage wanted to do was pull on her tubing! This is definitely gonna be an adjustment period, BUT TODAY WAS THE FIRST DAY MY FAMILY WAS ALL IN THE SAME ROOM TOGETHER! I’ve waited so long for this moment, CORE MEMORY FOR SURE! We are on day four of the home vent and our oxygen is at 30% Today we got to sit her in a high chair for the first time, and during her diaper change we definitely bonded…SHE PEED ON ME THREE TIMES Her little personality is starting to show, AND THE FACES Keep sending love and prayers yall!
6/6/24 Violet Update: Day 244 on our NICU journey! HAPPY 8 MONTHS VIOLET! We are staying strong on our 21% oxygen, slowly coming off our medications, and we have changed her breathing treatments to every 12 hours vs the 8 hours we have been! She has increased to 111 ML feeds, and she weighs 15lbs, 1oz! We are constantly being told how BEAUTIFUL HER EYES ARE! AND HOW MUCH THE NURSES LOVE TO PLAY WITH HER! Keep sending love!
6/26/24 Violet Update: Day 264 on our NICU journey! Today we got to see Violet in a bouncer for the first time. Our oxygen is 21% and we are 15 lbs, 6 oz! We love music, sticking our tounge out, and chewing on fingers! (EVERYONES ) Please keep praying for our Tiny Titan!
7/5/24 Violet Update: Day 271 on our NICU journey! Violet is 15 pounds, 5 oz. Oxygen is at 21% and we are eating 116 ML! She is thriving y’all! Always alert and loves crinkle toys! Our classes yesterday covered the hands on portion of trach care and how to manually bag Violet. Sometimes while on the vent Violet can “clamp down” (strain) preventing her chest wall from rising and as a result it restricts her ventilation and oxygen. This can occur at random, or when she becomes extremely agitated or upset, and truly my biggest fear of this whole process. (Besides changing the trach out) Yesterday was the most educational and scariest class yet, but MY HUSBAND KILLED IT! He did each step with confidence and with a smile the whole time! He definitely helped calm us girls. Everyday we get a little more comfortable than the day before, and that’s all you can ask for! Y’all keep praying
7/9/24 Violet Update: Day 275 on our NICU journey! AND HAPPY BELATED 9 MONTHS VIOLET! (We turned 9 months this past Saturday) We are 16 pounds 3 ounces, and happy as ever! Tonight’s class focused on trach care and as you can see, Violet was not amused! Lots more boxes to check before she is home, but we are getting closer! Keep the love coming y’all!
7/19/24 Violet Update: Day 285 on our NICU journey! We are 16 pounds 6 ounces and BEAUTIFUL! She loves chewing on her hands, looking at herself in the mirror and her mobile! Today, was easier than yesterday and tomorrow will be even better! Keep the prayers coming!
7/24/24 Violet Update: Day 292 on our NICU journey! We are 16lbs,12oz and VERY AWARE OF OUR LEGS! Tonight was our first time to change out her trach with ZERO issues! Violet was very content and even practically falling asleep! Keep the prayers coming y’all, and I hope everyone enjoys this video has much as we do!
8/4/24 Violet Update! Day 303 on our NICU journey! Violet is 16 pounds, 15 ounces and eating 6 oz every four hours! She continues to grow so strong! Next week is CPR training and in the near future brother will FINALLY GER TO MEET HER! Keep sending the love y’all!
8/10/24 Violet Update: Day 310 on our NICU journey! TODAY WE MET BROTHER! Both kids were unsure of one another, and OF COURSE first thing Sage wanted to do was pull on her tubing! This is definitely gonna be an adjustment period, BUT TODAY WAS THE FIRST DAY MY FAMILY WAS ALL IN THE SAME ROOM TOGETHER! I’ve waited so long for this moment, CORE MEMORY FOR SURE!
