My name is Tamsila, and I am trying to save the life of my tiny 6-month-old kitten.

She should be at the age where she’s full of energy, running around, playing, and discovering the world. Instead, she is fighting for every breath.

We found her completely alone as a tiny stray kitten, with no mother and no one to care for her. She was so small and vulnerable, and we couldn’t just leave her there. From the moment we brought her home at around 7 weeks old, she became part of our family.

All we wanted was to give her a safe, loving life.

But very early on, we noticed something wasn’t right.

My kitten has now been diagnosed with severe heart disease affecting both sides of her heart, caused by a rare condition called pulmonic stenosis. This means the valve that carries blood from her heart to her lungs is dangerously narrowed. Because of this, her little heart has to work far harder than it should just to pump blood through her body.

Over time, this has already caused extensive damage to her heart, and she is only six months old.

Without surgery to open the narrowed valve and allow blood to flow properly, she will not survive. The prognosis without treatment is heartbreaking.

What makes this even harder is that this condition is extremely rare in cats, and because she is so young, the damage already seen on her echocardiogram shows just how severe and fast-progressing the disease is.

Since she was a tiny kitten, she has struggled to breathe. Many of the photos on her profile show her breathing with her mouth open, desperately trying to get enough oxygen. At first, we were told it might be something innocent that she would grow out of, so we waited until she was old enough to have a proper heart scan.

When the results came back, our hearts broke.

She now suffers from collapses, fainting spells, and seizures because her body isn’t getting enough oxygen. Some days she just lies there, exhausted from trying to breathe. She isn’t the happy, playful kitten she was when we first brought her home.

Watching her struggle like this is devastating. She is so small, so innocent, and she doesn’t understand why breathing is so hard.

The only thing that can save her is a specialist heart procedure to widen the valve and allow her heart to pump normally. This surgery could give her the chance to live a normal life.

But the reality is that the treatment is far more than I can afford on my own.

I never imagined I would be in a position where I might lose her simply because I cannot afford the treatment she needs. She has already survived being alone on the streets as a tiny kitten. She deserves the chance to grow up, to run, to play, and to breathe without struggling.

I am asking for help with everything I have in me.
