First job, First car, Prom, Homecoming, College Visits, Road trips and concerts with friends, first date, first kiss. Finding your passion, pursuing your dreams. 

Mental health crises have put all these things on hold for our teenager. 

As our teen enters what should be an exciting senior year he feels crippled and crushed by the fear that he may never get to experience what others enjoy. 

As parents we have spent countless days and nights trying to support our teen through the pain and help find a way out that is not just temporary so that he can feel true relief and real hope.

This December he and I will travel to Costa Mesa, CA to work with one of the world's leading OCD and BDD experts. Chris Trondsen is on the International OCD foundation's board of directors and also has expertise in working with autistics and is a passionate advocate for the LGBTQ+ community. We will be participating in a month long intensive program with him that will go from the beginning of December in to the new year. Our insurance will be covering the therapy but we need help with airfare and accommodations for the month that we will be staying in California.

It will be our first Christmas in 17 years of marriage that we will not be together as a family. It is hard to accept, especially for our younger children who still enjoy the magic of Christmas, but just like you we would do anything for our kids so we are making the sacrifice in hopes that we will find healing and hope and that he will gain the tools he needs to live his dreams and his truth. 

We are looking for unique donations. Below we have listed things that we need and some pie in the sky hopes that we have for this December. We understand the difficulty in trusting that a monetary donation will be used as requested.

Because of this we are also open to connecting to those with air miles we could use or accommodations. If you would rather purchase a gift card we could use an Airbnb card or an Expedia one and send you the purchase receipt when we book. Additionally if you own a time share, Airbnb, or Turo/rental car near Costa Mesa, CA please reach out if you might be willing to allow us to use it for a discounted rate during December or January. Even just a few days would reduce our travel expenses. We appreciate any donation you can make and even more we appreciate you sharing this with those who may have more abundant resources and a passion to destigmatize mental health treatment to help us get our son on the road to recovery. 1. Two one way plane tickets from XNA to Los Angeles airport on December 8th (our return date will not be definite until we have started the program)

So that my husband and our 8 year old and 12 year old could spend Christmas with us. Our teen would not be able to travel home at this point in the program. IF we receive this we will surprise our kids with the trip for Christmas.
