Help Our Sweet Phil-Man on His Road to Recovery
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Jess, and I'm fundraising for our beloved Phil—also known as Philly Man, Philly Cheesesteak, or just our little Chonky Boi.
On May 14th, we had the scare of a lifetime when our food-obsessed boy didn’t come running when we sang our usual dinner song (yes, we do indeed sing a song every time we feed our cats) —something he never misses. We found him barely able to walk, his head drooping, and completely disoriented. We rushed him to the emergency vet, where he was kept overnight and underwent a series of tests.
The vet discovered his potassium levels were dangerously low, and an ultrasound revealed a tumor on his adrenal gland. They diagnosed him with hyperaldosteronism, a condition that’s quite rare in cats.
Phil was transferred to a specialist and spent several more days in care to stabilize his potassium levels. Thankfully, he’s back home now, and we can manage his condition with medications. Our next steps will be to find out if he’s a candidate for surgery to remove the tumor and to decide whether that’s the right path for him. We’re hopeful that, with the help of medication, we can keep him comfortable and happy at home. No matter what we choose, he still has a long journey ahead to stay stable—and with us—for as long as possible.
Phil means the world to us, and we refuse to ever give up on him. He always makes it a point to greet every visitor to our home and brings so much joy to everyone who meets him. He’s been a constant source of comfort through a very tough year for our family, and we can’t imagine life without him.
This journey has already cost over $8,000 in emergency and specialist care, and we know there’s more to come. We’re asking for help to cover Phil’s medical expenses—every single dollar raised goes directly toward his treatment.
It’s not easy for me to ask for help or create this GoFundMe, but please know that your support—whether it’s a small donation or simply sharing this campaign—means more to us than words can ever express.
