Our sweet Peach has been through more in the last few days than we ever could have imagined, and we’re asking for help as we continue fighting for her.
Peach is our 9-year-old orange kitty and truly part of our family. She recently underwent emergency surgery for pyometra, and while she initially seemed to be recovering, she suddenly developed serious breathing complications several days later.
What started as concern over her respiratory rate quickly turned into emergency hospitalization, oxygen support, chest imaging, ultrasounds, repeated bloodwork, and ongoing critical care monitoring.
At first, doctors feared congestive heart failure, but Peach’s case has become much more medically complex and difficult to pinpoint. Right now, veterinarians are still trying to determine exactly what is causing the fluid in and around her lungs and why her body is reacting this way. Possibilities being explored include inflammatory complications, pneumonia, cancer, atypical fluid accumulation, and other underlying conditions.
Despite how serious this situation is, Peach continues to show us her spirit every single day. She’s still standing, walking around, drinking water, asking for pets and kisses, pawing at the glass to see us, and reminding us that she is still fighting.
At this point, we are continuing with:
• oxygen therapy and hospitalization
• repeat imaging and diagnostics
• ultrasounds and radiology review
• bloodwork and monitoring
• medications and fluid management
• specialist evaluation and continued testing
Emergency veterinary care has become incredibly expensive very quickly, and we are now facing thousands in medical costs with additional diagnostics and hospitalization still ahead of us.
If you are able to donate, share, or simply keep Peach in your prayers, our family would be beyond grateful. Every contribution helps us continue getting her the care, testing, and treatment she needs while doctors work to understand what is happening and help stabilize her.
Thank you for loving our Peach alongside us.
