Our sweet boy Cody has been through so much in the last few days. It started late at night when he began vomiting nonstop and couldn’t even keep water down. We rushed him to the emergency vet around 1AM, where they initially thought it was gastroenteritis and sent us home with medication. But he kept getting worse, he began throwing up every 30 minutes, becoming lethargic, and completely dehydrated.

After talking with his vet, we brought him back to the ER, where they discovered something far more serious. An ultrasound showed inflammation and what looked like a blockage in his small intestine. They feared for perforation in the jejunum, which means part of his intestine may tear and start leaking. Surgery is his only real chance.

Cody is undergoing emergency intestinal surgery to remove the damaged section and clean his abdomen. We’re trying to stay hopeful and focus on helping him through this.

We’ve now spent over $15,000 between hospital stays, diagnostics, and surgery. We unfortunately don’t have insurance for him. When we rescued Cody, he already had several preexisting conditions that made coverage impossible to afford. We’ve always paid out of pocket for his care, but this has become to heavy of a burden to carry alone.

We hate asking for financial help, but we’re truly at our limit , emotionally and financially. If you’re able to donate or even just share his story, it would mean the world to us. Every bit helps us keep him in care and on the road to recovery.

Cody is the gentlest, sweetest soul. He’s loyal, loving, and endlessly goofy. We just want him to come home, rest in his favorite spot, and feel safe again. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all the prayers, love, and support. ❤️‍
