Hi everyone, my name is Maria and thank you so much for being here.
Our sweet 6-year-old Golden Retriever Fafu is truly part of our family. She’s loving, gentle, goofy, and full of life — still so young, with so much love to give. A short time ago, she suddenly started limping on one of her front legs.
After several vet visits, we learned she may be dealing with a neurological condition affecting the brachial plexus, a group of nerves that controls movement and feeling in her front leg. At the same time, we are still running tests to rule out cancer and other possible conditions, including a cervical disc issue. She has also started showing weakness in other legs and has difficulty swallowing while eating, which has been heartbreaking to watch.
Even with everything she’s facing, she’s still herself — wags her tail, looks for cuddles, and wants to be close to us. Seeing her spirit stay strong is what keeps us fighting for her comfort and care. Because she’s only 6 years old, we want to make sure we explore every option to help her feel better and stay pain-free for as long as possible.
Veterinary care in New York City adds up very quickly. Between specialist visits, advanced imaging like MRI, medications.
We created this GoFundMe to ask for support so we can:
• Continue testing to rule out cancer and reach a clear diagnosis
• Cover veterinary visits, medications, and supportive care
• Make sure she is comfortable and not in pain
• Focus on loving her, instead of worrying about finances
Any donation — no matter how small — truly helps. If you’re unable to give, sharing this page means just as much to us.
Thank you for reading, for caring, and for supporting our girl during this incredibly difficult chapter. She is surrounded by love, and we’re doing everything we can for her .
