Help our Students Get to School Everyday!

The International Community School (ICS) is a public charter school in DeKalb County, Georgia serving students in grades K-5. ICS was strategically designed in 2002 to bring together refugee, immigrant and local children in an academically challenging and nurturing environment. Today, the school serves more than 400 students annually representing more than 30 nationalities and speaking 25 languages . Our school is comprised of over 50% refugees and immigrants, and of our total school population, approximately 75% of our students are eligible for free and reduced lunch.

At ICS we serve a unique student population, and for a majority of ICS families access to transportation can be a challenge. For this reason, we provide transportation at no cost to our students. We do not want to create any additional barriers for our students to succeed, so in order to fulfill our mission we make sure our kids can get to school. We pay DeKalb county for their bus service, and this is something that ICS has to fundraise for.

The transportation services we offer our families are a crucial part of our mission, without bus service, many of our students would not be able to attend ICS.
