Help our starving family in Gaza

Dear friends & helpers,

my name is Amina Moshtaha, I'm 25 years old and I was born in Berlin where I am currenty working on my PhD. My dad Ishak Moshtaha and his wife Sanaa (born Alhelou) also live in Berlin, but were born and raised in Gaza.

We're currently supporting our families (Moshtaha & Alhelou Family) in Gaza financially, who are facing an extreme lack of food. We have to provide about 4000 € per month to more than 150 relatives, to guarantee their survival. Because this horrendous situation doesn't seem to find an end, we can’t see no other way than to ask for your financial support to secure food safety for our families.

The money will be directly sent to the siblings of Sanaa and Ishak, and to the children of Ishaks sister, Ibtissam Alnize, who passed away last year.

Due to the embargo, food prices have increased drastically: In Gaza City, flour costs 13€ per kg, while vegetables are almost unaffordable with prices sometimes as high as 5€ per onion. Medicine as well as sanitary products are not available, while the price of diapers has increased by almost 700%.

The lack of food forces our family to make food out of animal feed and only have a maximum of one meal per day. (see pictures below)

Most of our family members are currently located in Gaza City, where they're living in households of over 50 people. The house of the Alhelou-Family is uninhabitable after the vandalism and burning conducted by the IDF (see pictures below).

Other relatives are living in Deir Al Balah and Rafah, where they have to sleep in tents. One tent is housing 25 persons and costs at least 400€.

Unfortunately, Sanaa's son Said Alhelou and his wife Sali are among the more than 30000 victims who didn't survive the bombings of the last five month. (You can see a picture of them below).

We have come to a point where we can no longer provide for our families by ourselves. Your donations help us securing at least the most necessary food requirements for the rest of our starving family.

ich bin Amina Moshtaha, 25 Jahre alt und komme aus Berlin, wo ich gerade an meiner Promotion arbeite. Mein Vater Ishak Moshtaha und seine Frau Sanaa (geb. Alhelou) wohnen ebenfalls in Berlin, kommen aber aus Gaza und sind dort aufgewachsen. Unsere Familien in Gaza (Familie Moshtaha & Alhelou) leiden, wie alle Menschen in Gaza, momentan sehr stark unter der Lebensmittelknappheit. Wir finanzieren für unsere Verwandten (insgesamt über 150 Personen) momentan lebensnotwendige Güter. Um ihr Überleben zu sichern benötigt unsere Familie etwa 4000€ pro Monat, fast ausschließlich für Lebensmittel und Zelte. Da diese katastrophale Situation kein Ende nimmt, ist der finanzielle Aufwand für uns nicht mehr tragbar, sodass wir euch hiermit um Unterstützung bitten.

Das eingenommene Geld wird direkt an die Geschwister von Sanaa und Ishak gesendet, sowie an die Kinder von Ishaks Schwester Ibtissam, die letztes Jahr leider verstorben ist.

Durch die unglaublich geringe Einfuhr lebensnotwendiger Güter, vor allem Nahrungsmittel, sind die Preise in Gaza enorm angestiegen. In Gaza City, wo sich etwa 100 unserer Verwandten befinden, kostet 1 kg Mehl 13€, während Gemüse, wie zum Beispiel Zwiebeln, teilweise mit bis zu 5€ pro Stück fast unbezahlbar sind. Deshalb können unsere Verwandten nur maximal eine Mahlzeit pro Tag essen.

Aufgrund des Mangels an Lebensmitteln wird oft improvisiert, sodass beispielsweise Gebäck aus Viehfutter hergestellt werden muss:

Medikamente, Hygieneartikel und Kleidung (vor allem Schuhe) sind so gut wie gar nicht vorhanden. Der Preis für Windeln hat sich sogar fast versiebenfacht.

Momentan befindet sich der Großteil beider Familien in Gaza City in stark überfüllten Wohnungen, mit etwa 50 Personen pro Haushalt. Das Haus der Familie Alhelou in Gaza City ist durch Vandalismus und Brandstiftung von der IDF nun komplett unbewohnbar:

Ein anderer Teil der Familie befindet sich mittlerweile in Deir Al Balah und in Rafah, wo sie in Zelten unterkommen müssen. Auch die Zelte, in denen etwa 25 Personen leben, sind mit mindestens 400€ ein großer Kostenfaktor.

Leider gehören Sanaas Sohn Said Alhelou und seine Frau Sali zu den über 30000 Menschen, die bei den Bombardierungen getötet wurden.
