Our son has been in the hospital for most of the past few months—about 75 out of the last 90 days.
He was diagnosed with stage 4 Hodgkin’s lymphoma back in March. While that kind of cancer is usually considered treatable, he’s had some complications that make things more serious. Doctors are now looking into other possible diseases—or even additional cancers—which has obviously made an already tough situation even harder.
He’s currently in the middle of his longest stay yet. He’s been admitted since May 7, and today is June 4. A majority of that time in the PICU.
My wife and I have tried to do everything right—we planned, saved, tried to be prepared. But nothing prepares you for this. We’ve had a lot of friends, coworkers, and family ask how they can help, and some suggested we set up a GoFundMe. So… here it is.
If you’re able to donate, thank you—seriously. And if you can’t, we totally understand. But if you’re eligible, please consider donating blood. He’s needed a lot of it, and we’ve seen firsthand how much it helps.
Thank you for being here.
