Help our sister Winnie with her uncertain medical journey.

Dear family and friends,

Hello my name is Joy and I am Winnie’s sister. I currently live in the UK while my sister lives in the Philippines. On behalf of my brother in law Tante and niece Pat together with my other sisters, Marlene, Ging and Lynnette. We are aiming to raise money to help our sister with her medical bills which is now starting to accumulate. Please Help our sister Winnie find Relief: Please Support Her Journey to a Diagnosis, treatment and Recovery.

We are reaching out with heavy hearts to ask for your support as our sister Winnie, continues to fight through excruciating pain, confusion, and an uncertain medical journey.

For more than three weeks now, our sister has been in the hospital, enduring continuous scans, tests, and diagnostic exams, including CT abdomen, endoscopy, colonoscopy and bone marrow biopsy. Despite the doctors’ best efforts and the numerous advance diagnostic tests completed, they still haven’t been able to pinpoint the cause of her questionable debilitating illness and pain, ascites (fluid buildup in the abdomen), and neurological deficits. She came to the hospital three weeks ago ambulatory but now nursed in bed. What was once a bubbly, lively person and inspiration to her pupils being a well loved public school teacher has become a shell of herself—displaying confusion, at times hallucination, and in constant discomfort and pain.

As her medical team continues to work tirelessly, they are recommending additional scans (MRI of the brain and CTAP) to better understand what’s happening and plan a treatment path. The uncertainty of her condition has been incredibly overwhelming, both physically and emotionally not to mention mentally and financially.

As we all know, healthcare expenses especially in the Philippines where healthcare is not free and expenses can add up quickly, especially when it involves multiple diagnostic tests, hospital stays, and specialist care and consultation. We are knocking from your kind hearts and asking for your generous support to help cover her medical expenses during this very difficult time.

Our hope is that with the right treatment, our sister Winnie will be able to experience a pain-free and worry-free holiday season. She deserves to be able to celebrate Christmas with her loved ones, not fighting through constant discomfort.
