Help me save my sister
Donation protected
My name is Ali and I'm helping my friend of many years, Iman, put together this fundraiser to help her family. Iman is a Googler, Sacramento-resident, LGBT community member, the goofiest devoted friend, and a mom. While Iman has lived in the US for over a decade now, her sister Safi is trapped in Gaza with all her kids (Saif, Mohammed, Ahmed, Eman, and Adam). Safi is an Egyptian citizen but her kids are not. Initially Safi was lucky and could stay in her home in the south in Khan Younis. Then her home was bombed and now they are all in a tent near Rafah. It is cold and food prices are going up and up.
This war has stretched us all mentally, spiritually and financially. We have lived in fear every single day. We have drained our bank accounts sending money to help Safi with the rising cost of living in ever more dire conditions. At our breaking point, now is the time we ask for your help.
All money raised will go directly to Iman's bank account. She will send the money to Safi via Western Union in Rafah. Safi will use the money to buy food, blankets, to try and survive, to improve the tent, and to help with the same for those nearby. If we raise enough money we may be able to save some for rebuilding and resettlement.
PS Iman's daughter is also named Safi, after her sister. Here they are in a recent photo at home in Sacramento. By contributing you are helping both Safi the elder in Gaza and Safi the younger in the diaspora.
Here is an additional bonus photo of Iman and Ali recently. We've been friends for over 15 years. We met in Gaza. Please help us help our friend and our sister.
