Help Our Sister Ru’ya & her Children

Hello dear supporters and friends of Ru'ya 

I just wanted to let you know why there's a change of beneficiary on this gofundme account. 

Well, when my friend Tabassum and I set this up for Ru'ya and her children - it was actually Tabassum that contacted me and asked me to set up a charitable fund for Ru'ya and her children. I actually was thinking of doing the same thing and as my friend Tabassum was busy with the palliative care of Ru'ya - together with 5 other friends - my task as part of Ru’ya’s support network and friends - was to set up the gofund me page - which I did - but all the time - I would liase with Tabassum. Now,  due to my own personal circumstances, I felt it would be better if my friend Tabassum sees through the last part of transferring the funding and keeping you up to date with the progress of the children, since Ruya’s passing - especially as now she has the time - as previously it was so hectic - as well as emotional - taking care of our beloved Ru'ya in her final days - as well as the funeral and bereavement visits we had from concerned family and friends. . May God - the Most Merciful - bless Ru'ya with peace - Ameen.   

I just want to thank you all again from the bottom of my heart. We have had such an overwhelming response from you all - you are the true friends of Ru'ya really - you are her support and what you have donated will see her orphaned children into the years to come. Ru'ya would have been truly lost for words with all the generous donations that tou have given. She would have been in tears and her her heart humbled at the love and concern the community AHs shown her - especially as she was a very modest person but especially kind to all she met. 

 This generous donation we have accumulated - which would have been impossible without your generous support - will be all put into a Trust Fund where the children - when they reach 18 years of age can access their allocated equal portions.  Some of the money will also  be used before that to cover any essential costs at home - directly for the children, such as clothes, or anything they need for school - e.g. technical equipment, extra tuition etc. 

Another portion will also be given as charity to feed the poor and homeless - as this is something Ru’ya would have wanted - as she always gave charity herself to those in need. 

Thank you again for all your support  - big and small - it is truly appreciated and never forgotten in our prayers for you. We are all completely honoured to have had the opportunity to know Ru'ya - and to share her story. 

We will be sending updates on the children - who are all safe - we can't mention anything more due to safeguarding but please be assured that the children are safe and myself, Tabassum and a team of completely devoted friends of Ru'ya are there for them in every way possible.

Please continue to make dua for her and for her children who are now orphans for having lost both mum and dad. May Allah envelop them with His mercy and grant them patience ameen ♥️

This beautiful family residing in sheffield South Yorkshire lost their father to cancer 2 years ago. Her husband was a caring father and good husband to Ru’ya and the children. He was known in the community just as Ru’ya is too. They were known for Khayr (good). Soon after the death of her husband our dear friend Ru’ya was starting to get weak due to some complications that were not yet known. After extensive hospital visits and examinations the doctors told her it was cancer. Ru’ya was getting weaker with each passing day.


Ru’ya was the type of person who would go out of her way to help another person. The community came together to help her whenever she required help. However, Ru’ya was a reserved lady and only a few close friends knew the extent of her illness.

The cancer eventually spread all over her body and had to be admitted into palliative care. This was the end for those who knew her, worse for her 4 beautiful children. The children haven’t yet adjusted to life without their dad and are already on their own emotional battle with their mothers life passing away slowly in front of their eyes.

Yesterday Ru’ya breathed her last on 20/04/21, and she returned to Her Lord. Alhamdulillah she returned to Allah on one of the most holiest months in Islam and with that our hearts are content that she will By His Permission Rest In Peace bi’ithnillah. We ask Allah to grant her in His vast Jannah and shower His mercy upon her soul and grant her Ease for all that she endured. Ameen

Now the hard work begins for her children. These children are now orphans and have not much support. Ru’ya leaves behind four children, 17,14,12 and 8 year old.

We are fundraising for her children who will require financial assistance for them to be able to get back on their feet whilst grieving for their mother. They have no external support in the UK, we therefore humbly request that you can donate to this cause, with your generous donation we can help raise money that would go towards the children trust fund. Their mother was a great woman who was there for anyone when they required help. Let’s be there for her by reaching out to the children and by helping them navigate life whilst overcoming the death of their beautiful mother.

It has been narrated when a soul leaves this world, his deeds come to an end except for three things sadaqah Jariyah (continuing charity), knowledge which is beneficial or virtues descendants who pray for him (Sahih Muslim 1631)

We would like some of the money to go towards building a well and feeding the poor on Ru’ya’s behalf. Sadaqa on her behalf.

It will also go towards the children’s eid money and some gifts to brighten the day for them and add a smile to their faces.

"Whatever you spend of good is for parents and relatives and orphans and the needy and the traveller, and whatever you do of good, Indeed Allah is owning of it" (Quran 2:215)

 The remainder of the money is going towards the children trust fund designated for their college/future they have no external support to do this for them.


I pray Allah accepts this from us and adds it to our scales of good deeds. Ameen. This is the many of many blessings and double rewards, so let’s dig deep and help these children who have now lost both their father and mother.
