Dear Friends, Family, and Community Members,
We are reaching out today to ask for help after a tragic event. Our sister, Dina, and our nephew, Greyson, recently experienced a devastating house fire. While we are incredibly grateful that they are both safe, they tragically lost everything they owned—their home, clothing, furniture, literally everything. without renters' insurance. Being a single parent is not easy especially when your child is a high school senior being displaced.
Starting over from scratch is a monumental task, and we are asking for our community’s support during this emergency period. Any contribution, no matter how small, will go directly toward helping them secure temporary housing, food, essential daily items and starting over.
We have set up a GoFundMe page to help with expenses such as housing, food, clothing, and basic necessities.
In addition to monetary donations, gift cards to stores (ie. Walmart, Amazon) are also extremely helpful, as that will allow Dina to purchase exactly what she and Greyson need most during this time.
While being displaced is tragic at any time, during the Holidays takes it to another level. Dina is a single parent raising her son alone and desperately needs support.
If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this message with your own network to help us spread the word.
Dina and Greyson are incredibly resilient, but the road to recovery is long. Your kindness, generosity, and prayers during this time truly mean the world to our family.
If you have any questions or would like to donate physical items, please email me at [email redacted]. I have also included the GoFundMe link as well.
Thank you all for the love, support, and prayers.
With gratitude,
Shawna Huntting, Jeff Hook, & Darren Hook (Dina’s siblings)
