Help our sick Aunt Kathy stay in her home.

Help our sick aunt stay in her home as her last wishes. Since August of 2019, Aunt Kathy has been complaining of not feeling well and having pain in her lower abdomen area. She had multiple doctors visits to figure out the cause of her discomfort, which took several months. The doctors dismissed her discomfort as a pulled muscle and not a serious matter. In this time she had lost her appetite and weight of approximately 100lbs. Going forward doctors further dismissed her complaints as not being high priority once Covid began. This allowed for precious time to pass for a potential diagnosis of her complaints. Her health steadily declined further while she waited. Kathy has been battling this issue for over a year and a half to finally conclude in February, she has stage four cancer. The cancer was found in her lung, lymph nodes, and has metastasized to her spine.
Since all this began, she has been unable to work due to Covid restrictions with her job, which requires her travel to nursing homes across the country in tandem with her declining health. Income has completely ceased and all savings and retirement have been dried up. She has applied for unemployment relief to help compensate for her job loss and has been on hold with the application. Time is running out for an approval of relief. She has taken her SSI benefits early to have some form of income. She only receives a small portion of what she would have earned if she took her money at the required age. Unfortunately, her mortgage cost is more than the total amount she receives in SSI payments.
Aunt Kathy fortunately has been able to place her mortgage on forbearance until June 1st, at which she will have to resume her monthly payments of $1,400. She is in fear of losing her home and to relocate in the midst of her health crisis. With that lingering possibility, we are concerned of how physically realistic this is and where she would even go. Through this process she has lost her dignity, her wish is to at least transition in her home that she has worked her entire life for. As her nieces and a few family members she has left, we are reaching out to help provide support for her last wishes to stay in her home. The $8,400 is the total amount of mortgage payments from June 1st - December 1st.
The donations towards this cause will make our Aunt’s last wishes a reality, also providing our family a chance to focus on loving and keeping her comfortable.
Thank you for taking the time to read, donate, and share this gofundme. We are truly grateful for any support we receive in this difficult time.
