Dear friends, family, and generous souls,
We are reaching out with heavy hearts for help as our beloved mom—a selfless, kind woman who always goes out of her way to care for the people around her—faces HER2-positive breast cancer that has spread to her bones. She’s always been the one to care for others without hesitation, but now, she needs our help to fight this battle.
My Mom's Journey
Late last year, during a visit to Canada, our mom started experiencing severe hip pain that made it difficult for her to walk or even sit without discomfort. With limited insurance as a visitor, she had to return to the Philippines for medical attention. There, doctors discovered that the pain was caused by breast cancer that had already spread to her bones.
Doctors found that the hip pain was caused by cancer-related bone damage, resulting in a fracture. Further tests and biopsies confirmed HER2-positive breast cancer, an aggressive form requiring immediate treatment.
This news shook our family to the core, but our mom’s strength and determination have never wavered. She has endured so much, but she remains hopeful and ready to fight. Despite the overwhelming challenges, our mom remains hopeful and resilient, leaning on her faith and the support of those around her.
Her Progress So Far
By God’s grace, the mass in her thigh was found to be a lipoma and has already been successfully removed through surgery. She has also undergone hip replacement surgery to relieve her pain and help her walk again.
We are praying and believing that this journey, as painful as it has been, is a blessing in disguise. The hip pain led to the discovery of the aggressive HER2-positive cancer in her breast, which might not have been caught in time otherwise.
The hospital kindly accepted a promissory note, allowing her to move forward with the surgeries. However, her doctors have now recommended urgent chemotherapy to help stop the cancer from spreading. This treatment must begin as soon as possible, but we need to settle her previous hospital bills to continue with her care.
The Financial Burden
The estimated cost of her hospital care, surgeries, and upcoming chemotherapy is ₱1,000,000 PHP (approx. $24,000 CAD). This includes her hospital bills, surgery expenses, the implant used for her hip replacement, multiple doctors’ professional fees, and the cost of her chemotherapy treatments. So far, we have raised ₱150,000 PHP (approx. $3,600 CAD), and we are continuing to do everything we can to raise more. However, there is still a long way to go before she can begin her chemotherapy, and we are reaching out for help to make this possible.
As her children, we left everything behind in the Philippines and moved to Canada with the hope of building a better future—not just for ourselves but so we could be in a stronger position to support our family in times like this. But having only recently settled here, we’re still adjusting to new jobs and responsibilities, and we haven’t yet reached the point where we can take on such a large financial burden on our own. We wish we could carry this alone, but right now, we need help. Any support you can give would mean the world to us.
Our Faith and Hope
Our faith as a family is that the Lord will completely heal her. We are standing strong in faith, trusting that He will provide the provisions needed—whether through direct blessings or through the kindness of good souls like you. Your prayers, love, and support are the blessings we are holding onto as we walk this difficult path, giving us the strength to believe in brighter days ahead.
How You Can Help
If you are able to donate, any amount—no matter how small—will help give our mom the chance to continue her treatment. Your support can help her take the next step in this battle and give her the strength and resources to fight.
If you cannot contribute financially, we humbly ask that you share this page with others who may be able to help. Even just spreading the word can bring us closer to giving her the care she needs.
Our mom is more than just a mother to us—she’s a devoted mother, sister, tita, and friend who has touched countless lives with her selflessness and kindness. She has spent her life giving to others, and now we are asking for help to give her the chance to heal, live pain-free, and spend many more years with her family.
We also kindly ask for your continued prayers as we remain hopeful and strong in faith.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for any kindness, generosity, or prayers you can offer during this difficult time.
With faith and gratitude,
Jerome, Jerimae & Family
