Help our roommate Sayane stay in school

Sayane is our roommate, friend, confidant, and peer. He was dealt a rough hand in life financially. He was born in Puerto Rico, where he was homeless from ages 5 to 7. He migrated to mainland America with his parents and three younger sisters when was 10. Today, he is at Miami University studying microbiology and minoring in physics. He enjoys a vibrant social life, and is involved in club volleyball and Unidos, a Latino student organization.
(update: we reached the 2600!!!! We are still going to be fundraising. Sayane may be working two jobs but in order to afford essentials and maybe reactivate his phone plan we will have to supplement it with this GoFundMe. He will still have to pay two more installments of 2600 which might not be possible without this)
And if he doesn't chalk up $2600 by Friday, he will have no choice but to withdraw from classes for the semester. He has $7700 in tuition left to pay this semester, and the 2600 would be the first of three payment plan installments.
He has already taken a second job at Taco Bell in hopes that he can work it out after he pays the first installment. Due to credit-related reasons, he has no recourse to get a loan. Sayane is a resilient and generous guy. Even in the past weeks, he has been sharing his cooking with us and doing all his far share around the house. He continues to work through his classes, even though he has no idea how to get past Friday. He kept this struggle from us until very recently and we feel absolutely compelled to try this to help him.
