Help Our Rescued Dog Fight Cancer

UPDATE: This fundraiser is closed. Our Lila passed away today. We have initiated refunds for all donors. Thank you to everyone who helped Lila,

My wife and I rescued our dog Lila as a puppy after she was abandoned by the side of the road. From the moment she joined our family, she’s brought so much joy and love into our lives. Lila was a wild, wonderful puppy. She destroyed more shoes and stole more food from the counter than we ever thought possible but she has also given us more joy, love and laughter than we ever imagined. She has grown into a wonderful, loyal, and well-behaved young dog with a unique, quirky and loving personality. She loves to go on long walks, run across the fields with her dog siblings, watch over our chickens, and watch TV with us in the evening with her head in our lap. Lila absolutely loves children and is the happiest when she has a child that she can hang out with and love on.
Several weeks ago Lila started limping and experiencing pain in her hind end. Three days ago, we received heartbreaking news: Lila was diagnosed with nephroblastoma, a rare and aggressive form of cancer. She has a 2,5 cm big tumor on her spine. She is in a lot of pain and is becoming weaker by the day.
We have already taken steps to help her, including getting a care credit loan for a CT. Now, her only option is surgery and potentially radiation at the Texas A&M Veterinary University Hospital. The cost of the treatment is overwhelming - between $20,000 and 30,000. However, we don't want to give up. Lila is only two years old and we want to fight for her.
We’re reaching out for support from our community and anyone who cares about animals. Any help you can give will go directly toward her medical care and give her the best chance to fight this cancer. No donation is too small. We will publish all medical estimates and costs and post regular updates here and on our Facebook page Rosie's Farm. We love Lila and don't want to give up without a fight. Thank you for considering a donation and for helping us give her the care she deserves.
