Hello everyone,

We are sharing the story of our 6-month-old rescue puppy, Pepper, who is sadly in need of surgery in order to have a chance at a normal and lengthy life. We were lucky enough to foster her and, after falling completely in love with her, we decided to adopt her permanently. But just as we were beginning to think of all the adventures and love we would share, we received some devastating news from her vet.

Pepper has been diagnosed with severe pulmonary stenosis, a life-threatening condition where the blood flow from the heart is restricted and the heart cannot function properly. Without surgery, her condition will worsen, and she likely will not live a full and happy life. Unfortunately, if left untreated, this condition will greatly shorten her lifespan and present a high probability for heart failure at a young age. The best way to give her a chance at a future is by undergoing heart surgery, which is not only critical but also very costly.

The estimated cost for Pepper’s heart surgery, along with the necessary appointments and testing, is over $12,000. This includes diagnostic tests, consultations with specialists, and the surgery itself. We are doing everything we can to ensure that she gets the treatment she desperately needs - her surgery has officially been scheduled for the end of May.
