We are fighting for Maisie's Life and We need your help!

We rescued our beautiful Maisie after she had already endured a very rough start in life. She was found in a hoarding situation—malnourished, filthy, and surrounded by nearly 50 other animals. Thankfully, she was removed from that environment and nursed back to health by Pudgy Pups Canada. Shortly after, we came across her photo on Instagram and knew we had to meet her.
When we went to meet Maisie that Sunday afternoon, Arliese sat on the ground, and Maisie crawled into her lap—and never left. Maisie chose us as her forever family. And as her forever family, we are now asking for your help in saving her life.
At almost one year old, Maisie had no health concerns. She was happy, healthy, vibrant, and full of life. But on Tuesday, June 17th, everything changed. We noticed changes in her gait and immediately brought her to the vet. Our regular veterinarian couldn’t determine what was wrong and referred us to a neurologist.
Initially, there was hope that steroids could help, and we began treatment that same day. However, when we saw no improvement, we returned to the neurologist on Saturday, June 21st, as her condition continued to worsen. This brings us to the devastating appointment we had today, June 24th.
As I write this, Maisie can no longer walk. She can get up with great difficulty, but only briefly. She is unable to stand to relieve herself and must do so lying down. Each time, she looks at us as if she’s done something wrong. She’s still eating and drinking. She’s still alert. And the light in her eyes is still there—that’s the light we’re fighting for.
The only way to truly understand what is happening to our beautiful girl—and how we can help her—is through an MRI. We’ve exhausted all of our financial resources to get to this point and now must turn to our friends, family, and community for help. Without an MRI, we won’t know what the issue is, or more importantly, how to treat it. It is our only path forward.
Maisie is just 11 months old. She’s already survived so much before finding her home with us. She is fighting with everything she has to stay, and we are fighting right alongside her.
Please help us find the answers we need to save our beautiful girl.
