Help our puppy Tor get a procedure to live
Donation protected
Hi everyone, we have the sweetest little puppy, Tor, who unfortunately appears to have been born with a very rare genetic disorder called Congenital Portosystemic Shunting. This means his liver can’t process the toxins produced from digesting food and this in turn effectively poisons him, causing signs of uncontrollable neurological failure such as seizures, behavioral changes, or even progressive liver damage. Properly diagnosing with a CT or MRI scan and treatment of his condition through a surgical procedure requires taking him to specialists in Saskatoon and is very expensive. Including all the expenses of taking time off work, travel to and from Saskatoon, hotels, and proper after care are the reasons that we’re looking at crowd funding. This is the first puppy either one of us have ever adopted, and even though I’ve dreamed of having a dog as part of my family since I was a child, I never knew just how much Tor would get into our hearts as well as the hearts of everyone who spends time with him. Everyone who meets him loves him, as his first move is a super submissive flop on the back to expose his belly for belly rubs. Even with other dogs he is submissive and gentle. All he wants is to play with his toys, have belly rubs from the humans he meets, to curl up and snuggle with his two human family and put love out into the world. There’s so much more sniffing/exploring and playing he deserves to do. We hope you’ll consider helping us help/save him. We’re trying to stay hopeful, and I wouldn’t normally think of doing anything like this if it wasn’t for him. Really, and sincerely, any help is very appreciated.
