Help Our Puppy Kobe Fight for His Life

Hello everyone,

We are the Hartwig family—Tim, my wife Stephanie, and our two boys, ages 3 and 5. We recently added a very special member to our family: Kobe, our sweet, happy, and loving rescue puppy who is just under 6 months old. Kobe has quickly become an irreplaceable part of our lives, filling our home with joy and laughter every day.

A few days ago, Kobe got into sugar-free gum containing xylitol—a substance that is incredibly toxic to dogs. We rushed him to the emergency vet immediately, and he’s been fighting for his life ever since. The veterinary team has been giving him intensive care, including IV fluids, dextrose, and plasma transfusions, to help him recover from severe liver damage and keep his blood sugar stable. So far we are over $10k in treatment. As he continues to progress we are in dire need of help.

We have done everything we can to save Kobe—tapping into all of our savings to cover his care so far. But the treatments are incredibly expensive, and the hospital costs for his ongoing stay, plasma transfusions, and supportive care have completely overwhelmed us financially.

We are reaching out to our community, friends, and anyone who can help us give Kobe the fighting chance he deserves. Every dollar raised will go directly toward his medical bills at the emergency hospital.
