Our sweet boy, Charlie, has recently been diagnosed with diabetes after an unexpected medical emergency that required immediate hospitalization. What started as a scary and confusing situation, quickly escalated into a life-changing diagnosis for our boy.

Charlie is 10 years old. We adopted him as a puppy from a local animal shelter. He had a rough start in life; we were told the story of how he was found on the road after taking a tumble out of a moving vehicle. Amazingly enough, he survived with few injuries! The moment we met him, and he melted into our arms as we held him, we knew he'd be ours forever! As we had children he lovingly helped us welcome each one to our family. Our family would not be complete without him.

Seeing him so sick has been devastating. He is currently being hospitalized under the care of a veterinary team who are working on bringing his blood sugar levels down to an acceptable range. After he is released (God willing), he faces a lifelong condition that will require daily insulin, monitoring, special food, and ongoing veterinary care.

The emergency hospitalization and diagnostic testing have left us with significant medical expenses, and the continued cost of managing diabetes will add to that burden. We are committed to giving Charlie the healthy, happy life he deserves, but we could truly use some help.
