Our parents were visiting family in Michoacán and had started to drive back home to the U.S. when their truck’s tire blew on the expressway. The car flipped over multiple times, causing injury to both of our parents. Good samaritans helped them until police and ambulance arrived. Our father suffered bruising and pain, and our mother had a dislocated shoulder, deep cuts to both hands, and a gash to her face that required surgery or stitches. She also has diabetes and needs daily dialysis, but her supplies are running out and her supplier will take nearly two weeks to deliver to Mexico. She’s had to make several ER trips, which are expensive and not covered by U.S. insurance, so they’re paying out of pocket and social security is not enough to cover what they are spending on medical care.
We are creating this to help alleviate the financial stress. Every amount earned will go towards medical bills, travel costs, and urgent dialysis supplies. We are limited in resources and trying to get our mother stable and back to the U.S. Any support you can offer would mean the world to our family. Please consider donating or sharing our story to help our parents in this difficult time.
