On January 24th, during the winter storm, our parents’ home suffered an electrical fire and is now unlivable. The fire caused severe structural, roof, electrical, and smoke damage. Portions of the ceiling and roof collapsed, and the home is unsafe to occupy. They have lived in this home for over forty years, and it will require major repairs and rebuilding to meet safety and code requirements.

Our dad is a Vietnam War veteran who proudly served our country. Our parents have always been the type to help others and never ask for anything in return.

Just three months ago, our family lost our brother to diabetes. Our hearts are still healing, and now this fire has made an already incredibly difficult time even harder.

Our parents are nearing their eighties, living on a fixed income, and unfortunately did not have homeowners insurance. Our family is helping as much as we can, but the cost of recovery is far more than we can manage alone.

Funds raised will be used specifically for:

• Emergency demolition and debris removal

• Fire and smoke damage remediation

• Structural framing, roof, and ceiling repairs

• Electrical system replacement and code compliance

• Insulation, drywall, flooring, and basic interior rebuild

• Temporary housing and essential living expenses during repairs
