Our elderly parents suffered another tragedy just one year after losing their dog of 16.5 years in 2024. In the early hours of the morning of July 5th, a fire would strike and burn down and ruin their beloved home of 20+ years. They were both asleep in their bedrooms when our step-dad was woken by the sound of the fire alarms yelling FIRE and beeping. He noticed that something was wrong and felt heat and smelt smoke. He then proceeded to yell through the house at our mom to get out of bed. They both had to crawl on the ground through the house full of thick smoke, unable to see where they were going as they attempted to reach the front door away from the rapidly approaching flames. Once they were both safely out of the house wearing just the clothes on their back along with their cell phones, they quickly ran far away from the house towards the neighbors. The flames would fully engulf the Garage, Laundry Room, Kitchen, and one of the bedrooms completely burning everything inside those rooms. Our step-dad lost his truck that was inside the garage, and our mother lost her van that was sitting right outside the garage.

They lost everything that was in the garage, Laundry Room, kitchen, and a majority of the house due to the flames along with the smoke and smog that discolored everything. This includes clothes, furniture, electronics, pictures, all of their beloved turtles, miniature car collection, Christmas decorations along with so much more. There isn't much inside the house that they will be able to save and keep, but we are trying our best. They are still being awoken in the middle of the night, saying that they smell the smoke and see the fire inside their dreams when they fall asleep. We are asking for donations to be able to help them recover from this devastation. This money would be used to help them find a temporary place to stay, clothes for them to wear, and to help them find a vehicle to use, along with any other essentials they need to survive.
