2021 has not started off well for us. Our parents, Karie Guy Walker and Jerry Walker, are both undergoing medical treatments that are going to get worse before they get better. Earlier this year, my mom became ill and ended up being hospitalized. During her stay, it was discovered that she has end-stage liver disease due to autoimmune hepatitis and needs a new liver. Although she has battled alcoholism for much of her adult life which contributed to the disease, she is sober and continues her work with AA. Karie has started her anti-rejection medication in preparation for a transplant.

Jerry was recently diagnosed with prostate cancer and while recovering from a prostatectomy and undergoing radiation, he will be unable to work and will only receive part of his pay while on leave.

Karie and Jerry are in desperate need of help. If you have any ability to give to their fund, we would be so appreciative. It will help them deal with their medical expenses and allow them some relief to deal with getting healthy. And prayers, good wishes and sending good thoughts are always welcome and accepted with love and grace.

We are doing everything we can to help them and are grateful to all of you who have sent your prayers and help. Please know that we will help others as soon we can.
