March 1st of 2023 our orphanage in Thailand will need to pay $80,000 to keep their home! When they lost their main sponsor in 2017 we acquired a property, built it up to meet their needs, and have been paying on a balloon loan for the past few years. We had the money secured in November through 1/2 donation and 1/2 loan but it fell through just last week… both parts. If we don’t raise these funds by March, 26 children and a family of 5 will not have a home.
These children are Hmong people and come from remote villages where drug addiction, physical abuse, and abandonment are common. Parents who are addicted to drugs will give their children opium to curb hunger because they don’t save money for food. Girls, as young as 13 years old, can be kidnapped in the middle of the night and forced into marriage. Children whose parents divorce and marry other people have been abandoned and left crying in the dirt streets; hungry and completely alone.
BUT GOD.
We believe that each of these children were created with a purpose and with a plan for their lives. All of these children are capable of changing their worlds, changing their cultures, and stopping cycles of poverty and abuse. Many want to be teachers, businessmen and women, and even pastors and missionaries.
My husband and I lived alongside these children in Thailand for several years and started learning the Thai language with them. We knew them before we could even say our own names and we’ve grown to know and love them as our language and friendships have grown over the past 7 years. The Mom and Dad who care for these children are just like our own parents and care for our son as their own grandson. We trust this family completely, we love these champions fully and want to invite you into this opportunity to change these lives forever.
Thank you in advance for sharing and giving! We cannot do this without you!
