Aloha, and mahalo for taking the time to read about our ʻohana. ❤️
We are a family of four myself, my husband, and our two children. I never thought we would find ourselves in a position where we would have to ask others for help, but right now, our ʻohana truly needs a helping hand.
Our home was already severely impacted by the Kona Low storms. The heavy rain, strong winds, and flooding caused damage to our roof, walls, foundation, windows, and doors. Water and moisture were getting into our home, and we were already trying to figure out how to make the necessary repairs and sealing work to protect our house from further damage. We were still working through the financial and emotional stress of all of this and doing our best to get our home back to a safe living condition.
Then came the recent storm, Lala.
Before we were able to fully recover from the Kona Low damage, Lala continued to cause additional damage to our home. The strong winds and rain caused additional damage to our roof, along with water and wind damage to our personal belongings. Once again, we are facing repairs, replacements, and expenses that we simply weren’t prepared for.
We also experienced a lengthy power outage, which caused us to lose the food we had in our refrigerator and freezer. Having to replace our food was another unexpected expense at a time when we were already struggling to recover.
My husband has serious health conditions and is considered high-risk, so having a safe and secure home is especially important for our family. As a wife and mother, I’m trying my best to stay strong for everyone, but the truth is, this has been a lot to carry.
Some days I feel overwhelmed wondering how we’re going to get through all of this, but I’m trying to keep going and do everything I can for my family.
We’re asking for help to repair the damage to our home, replace what we can of the belongings we lost, and make our house safe and livable again for our family.
I know everyone has their own struggles and responsibilities, so I don’t take anyone’s help for granted. Whether you are able to donate, share our GoFundMe, or simply keep our ʻohana in your thoughts and prayers, anything truly means so much to us.
We are just trying to get our family back on our feet and have a little bit of stability again.
From our ʻohana to yours, mahalo nui loa for taking the time to read our story, for any help you can give, and for showing our ʻohana a little aloha during a time when we really need it.
God bless.
