Help Our Odyssey of the Mind Team Get to World Finals (May 27–31)

Our River Oaks Elementary team has earned the opportunity to compete at the Odyssey of the Mind World Finals this May 27–31.

This didn’t happen overnight. These students have been working for months, meeting weekly, often more, designing and building a solution entirely from scratch, testing it, revising it, and preparing a full performance. Along the way, they had to think critically, solve unexpected problems, and work together under pressure.

Their effort led to real results. The team placed first at Regionals and first in the State of Texas, advancing through a highly competitive process to earn a spot at World Finals.

They will now compete alongside teams from across the United States and dozens of countries around the world. It is a significant accomplishment, and they’ve earned their place there.

Now we need to make sure they can go.

We are raising $10,500 to cover the core costs associated with the competition, including airfare, transportation, transporting their props and materials to Iowa, housing on campus at Iowa State University, meals, and registration.

For these students, this experience goes well beyond the competition itself. It gives them the opportunity to present their work on a global stage, build confidence in their ideas, and see firsthand what they are capable of when they commit to something and follow it through. Experiences like this stay with them—they shape how they approach challenges, how they see themselves, and what they believe is possible for their future.

We want every student who earned this opportunity to be able to participate, regardless of financial constraints.
