Help Our Night Shift Hero Steve
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Brianna Cook. I am fundraising for my dear friend/co-worker Steve Erdner. Steve is a 54-year-old Operating Room Registered Nurse of over 11 years and a former IBEW Industrial Wireman of 22 years. Steve is a hardworking jokester. He is the one who makes coming to work fun. Sadly, he was recently diagnosed with Esophageal Cancer and is beginning the fight of his life. He is traveling to Memorial Sloan Kettering in NYC for tests and treatment, a 6-hour drive one-way. As of now, radiation treatments will take place five days a week for five weeks; during this time, he will be unable to work. The chemotherapy plan and timeline is still unknown. The planned surgery is a 12-14 hour operation, and recovery is at least six weeks (if everything goes textbook- no complications etc.). Most of Steve's time will be spent in NYC, making it even more difficult to spend time with his two boys (Ethan 12 and Owen 10), who will be in school while he undergoes treatment. He has mentioned doing something great like a memorable trip or an extra special Christmas for his young boys. Thanks to our operating room staff, he has a powerful support team. Any help would be greatly appreciated, a little bit goes a long way. He helps save lives. Let's help save his.
