Hi, my name is Thomas Stevens and I'm a resident at the Polaris Eastgate apartments in Bellevue and have a Polaris Eastgate group on Facebook for residents. I'm organizing this fundraiser on behalf of my neighbors who were affected by the devastating fire on Wednesday, November 5th.

What Happened

Around 7 p.m. on November 5th, a fire broke out in Building 2. While we are all so thankful that no one was hurt, the fire completely destroyed an apartment on the 3rd floor.

The water used to extinguish the blaze also caused massive, cascading damage to apartments on the 2nd and 1st floors below. Several of our neighbors have been completely displaced and have lost nearly everything they own.

Why They Need Our Help

The Red Cross organization was able to provide temporary emergency housing for three households, but that support is limited.

Tragically, these families did not have renter's insurance. They are now facing the overwhelming and immediate task of rebuilding their lives from scratch—replacing furniture, clothing, food, kids' necessities, and all the everyday items we take for granted.

How You Can Help

I am starting this GoFundMe to rally our Bellevue community and show these families they are not alone. Our goal is to raise at least $1,000 to provide some immediate relief.

While it can't replace their priceless belongings, it can help them with a security deposit on a new apartment, buy new beds for their children, or simply cover groceries and clothes for the coming weeks.

100% of the funds raised (after GoFundMe's standard processing fees) will be delivered directly to the Polaris Eastgate leasing office. The office will then distribute the funds equally among all the confirmed affected households from this incident.
