HELP FOR OUR MUM, ENTIRE HOME STOLEN IN HOUSE MOVE
Just to introduce ourselves, we are Andy, Jenny & David, and this fundraising page is on behalf of our Mum.
Some of you may have seen across the Media this week, that on Tuesday 10th November 2020, we had some life changing news that happened to our family, specifically our wonderful Mum. Firstly, we wanted to thank everyone who has shared the posts and for the kind messages of support.
On Tuesday, our Mum was moving house from Taunton, Somerset, where she had lived for 40 years, to have a new life of Retirement back by the coast in Dorset where she used to live, near Bournemouth which she loves.
Her whole life was packed up on a removal vehicle and whilst on route, the vehicle was stolen when the driver stopped to have a refreshment break. When he returned to the vehicle, he saw it being driven off. The Police are currently involved, however, the evidence we have so far strongly suggests we will never see the contents of this vehicle again. Due to the circumstances around the theft, we have been informed by the removals Company that their Insurance will not cover this.
As you may understand, this awful event has had a devastating impact on all of us, specifically our Mum, who literally now just has the clothes she was wearing, her handbag and some plants from her garden. She has lost everything. A washing machine, a bed, a TV, towels etc can all be replaced, but it's the overwhelming loss of all the sentimental items that can never be replaced, such as photos, jewellery and specifically our Grandma's ashes (her mum), who passed away earlier this year in May. Due to the Covid restrictions, we have not had a chance to scatter these as we were planning to do this next year as a family. The thought of where these may be now is sickening.
On Wednesday 11th November (less than 24 hours later), a walker found some of Mums personal information floating in the River Sowy, including her passport, bank statements and all of our birth certificates. As you can imagine, this has been extremely traumatic.
Our Mum is unaware that we are doing this, and the purpose is to raise money to try and help support her in her new home and to be able for us to do something really nice to help her move forward and deal with the unfathomable emotional, mental and financial impact this has had.
