Help our mum restore her pond after deliberate poisoning

Donation protected
Hi. My name is Sarah Bates. Has many of you have seen or read on Facebook or the Derbyshire times newspaper article. A week ago our 70 year old mum had her fish pond inhumanly destroyed over night to the worst imaginable. She had over 40 fish in her pond. Koi carps and gold fish. All in which she raised and grew from tiny baby’s for the past 28 years. It was our mums passion. She just loved to be in her garden, listening to the water running, watching her fish swim, making sure all her filters was clean and working. She sat hours on her garden especially through the warmer months, Even the cooler month's with her wooly hat on. She sat hours on her bench with a coffee either reading books, knitting or just simply admiring her pond what she built from nothing. And it was a lovely pond. She was very proud of what she achieved. We all was. She absolutely adored her fish. She knew each fish down to its last scale. It was her passion. We her daughters grew up with the fish, her grandchildren grew up with the fish and her great grandchildren did also. When ever they visited they always wanted to go and see the fish’s. They was a big part of all our lives growing up. We all in 1 way or another contributed to the pond. Weather that was buying our mum fish for her birthdays, Mother’s Day or Christmas. Buying pond plant’s or even fish food. But unfortunately they was all poisoned over night and our mum lost every single fish apart from 1 gold fish which we managed to save from this. Just 1 fish. We have since named him lucky. This has absolutely broke us all. The devastation this has caused our family is beyond belief. It has totally broke our mums heart that someone could be so cruel to do such a terrible thing. Those poor defenceless fish. They didn’t deserve that. NO animal deserves that. And our mum definitely didn’t. That site my mum woke up to that morning will be forever in her mind. Heartbreaking it truly is. The aftermath of this horrific attack has left our mum with nothing. All she sees now is her empty pond and the images of what she, we had to deal with after. Horrific. Not only did she lose her beloved fish but also her pond plants and equipment got damaged. All that we managed to save from this was 1 goldfish (lucky) and her pond liner. We her daughters are heartbroken for her. Just knowing that when our mum walks onto her garden she is instantly reminded of what has happened. Looking at her empty pond which was once filled with water, life and love. We has a family are kindly asking for any donations, no matter how small to help our mum get her pond back up and running. We will not let this ruin her passion for what she once loved. And finally, we as a family want to say a huge thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all your kind words and well wishes. Also for the love, support and help so far to trying to restore her pond. Thank you ☺️
