Our mum has been bravely fighting breast cancer since January 2024. She has endured months of chemotherapy, multiple surgeries, radiotherapy, and on going treatment.
We learned July last year that her cancer is aggressive and her doctors have told us she will need treatment for the rest of her life as her cancer has now become incurable. This was heartbreaking to say the least as she had only just rang the chemotherapy bell in September of 2024, had two surgeries in November 2024, radiotherapy in March 2025 and immunotherapy up until June 2025, which we thought would be the last step of her treatment.
July 2025
Our mother then discovered a lump on her left side (the initial cancer being on the right) and it was quickly diagnosed as cancerous and she underwent another operation at the end of July. A biopsy was taken from her right side during this operation and was initially identified as a cyst but also turned out to be cancer, meaning that the chemo, radiotherapy and immunotherapy were not effective in keeping the cancer away.
We wanted to give her the best possible chance by booking a private consultation with a leading breast cancer specialist in London for a second opinion and also incorporating holistic methods alongside her treatment. We hoped this could open the doors to treatment options or approaches that have not yet been explored.
September 2025
Our beautiful mum began another round of chemotherapy, while doing so she developed tumours on the top of her right breast, which I time became extremely painful and uncomfortable, we were told there was nothing they could do.
February 2026
By February our mum began to be in absolute agony, unable to take further treatment and her tumours became an open wounds. At this point we still didn’t receive any support on how to manage her condition.
March and April 2026
During these two months after many trips to A&E and hospital admissions (with strong advocacy from me and my sister) mum was finally assigned to Palliative Care Team and began her journey to manage pain and discomfort to get well enough to try any available treatment for her.
May 2026
During this month my strong mother became so unwell from the pain, had continuous infections developing in her breast she needed to go into hospice for symptom management as community care wasn’t enough. We knew things were progressing but were hopeful that after IV round of antibiotics she will get well enough to at least be home with us.
June 2026
Mum returned home on 28th of May, unfortunately it wasn’t a smooth sailing from the get go but we were hopeful her condition would improve. Unfortunately everything she struggled with returned times 10. Constant vomiting, agonising pain and little to no energy, as expected her weight dropped suddenly. We remained strong and hopeful someone somewhere can help her feel better.
June 8th 2026
Her condition has sadly worsened, and we’ve been told we are now looking at just weeks left with her. This is something that truly shattered us as family, we can’t imagine living without our protector and best friend.
We would truly appreciate any support possible, we want to ensure she has everything she needs in her last weeks. Unfortunately our paydays are not until end of the month and in all honesty I feel hopeless and worried.
Even the smallest contribution will make a difference. If you can't donate, sharing this page will help us more than you know.
With gratitude,
Ally, Julia and Milo
