Our mum Georgina lost her partner Jeff in an accident in Crete on 2 March 2026.

His sudden death has left her emotionally and financially devastated. We are raising funds to help support her through this difficult period.

Our wonderful mum, Georgina Solo, recently lost her partner Jeff St Clair in a tragic accident. On March 2nd Jeff was working his land in Crete and was fatally injured by a rotovator.

Jeff and Georgina became partners three and a half years ago, having been close friends for decades prior. Their love was something truly special to witness – grounding, joyful, and full of plans for the future. They were preparing to move closer to the UK to spend more time with their grandchildren, and were looking forward to formalising their lives together with a civil partnership just before he died.

Jeff was kind, generous, and deeply loved by those who knew him. He had built a life in Crete working the land he cared so much about, and his partnership with Georgina brought them both immense happiness, along with their dog Griffin, and two cats, Stitch and Genghis. .

His loss has left an enormous hole in all our lives, but especially our mum’s. Jeff was her partner, companion, best friend and a source of emotional and financial support. With his sudden death, her world has been turned upside down.

Due to various circumstances Georgina, who has never shied away from hard work, faces financial difficulty following these events. There was no will left, and she is having to rethink plans the couple had while navigating challenging health conditions and the expenses associated with Jeff’s loss. We are raising money to help Georgina through this time and provide the support she needs to begin rebuilding her life.

How donations will help

Physiotherapy and health support

Our mum is an incredibly talented freelance scenic and prop painter, puppeteer, and artist. She is deeply passionate about her work and has spent decades working physically demanding jobs in theatre and film. She has a few ongoing health conditions that make extended periods of work difficult at the moment. Support will help her continue the physiotherapy treatment she needs to manage these conditions.

Bereavement counselling

Our mum has faced many hardships in her life and has always met them with resilience and strength. But losing Jeff in such a sudden and painful way has created trauma, and professional support is now essential. Donations will help cover counselling so she can process her grief and begin to move forward.

Expenses

A portion of the funeral, legal and logistical expenses related to Jeff’s death were covered by the generosity and kindness of friends and family. However some substantial expenses remain. These include car hire, shipping costs, flights and some legal fees.

This summer, Jeff and Georgina had plans to rent out Georgina's place in northwest Crete, and she would live with Jeff in his village, on the eastern part of the island. Now, however, being alone in Jeff's house for a long period of time is very difficult for our mum. So having the flexibility and freedom now more than ever is vital for her.

Provision to see family

Georgina will soon be alone in Greece, away from her immediate family. She would like to relocate to nearer the UK in the long term, but right now needs to be near her family. We want to help her spend more time with us and her grandson Levon. She is an extraordinary grandmother, and support with travel will help her spend more precious time with him and family in the UK.

Pet Care

Georgina and Jeff had three wonderful animals in their care, one of which was traumatised by the experience of being left alone for several days (and possibly beaten by the police when they arrived at their house). Being a sole carer of three pets is a new challenge, and your funds will help her secure their wellbeing in the short term.
