Update:
Fast forward a year later, Mums terminal and now in palliative care and treatment is no longer working unfortunately. They just trying to keep the pain under control and her comfortable. We have kept our minds open with natural/bush medicines.

I never thought I’d be writing something like this in my life but here it goes. It is in deep heartbreak i am writing this today for my mum. My beautiful mother Shelley, 43. After heavy bleeding mum knew it was time to head to hospital something wasn’t right, thank god she did. After several blood transfusions, scans and surgery for what we thought was a cyst, we got the news mum had stage 3 cervical cancer in April 2023. She did an amazing job as she underwent four months of treatment chemo, radiation and brachytherapy and came out the other-side feeling positive, but unfortunately the news wasn’t good. She went for her PET scans and soon discovered it had now spread to her lungs.
We are praying for her recovery, as all they can do is try and stop the cancer from spreading and growing anymore . Our mum is about to undergo 4 different types of chemo as-well as immunotherapy and it’s more intense treatment. This time she will unfortunately loose her hair.
On Wednesday 7th of February Mum had her first lot of chemotherapy. Mum is a strong woman but this one really knocked her around. Our Mum has a heart of gold and has always put others first! She has done an absolute amazing job with raising us six kids, (youngest being 8 & 18) as well as beautiful grandchildren.
It’s time to look after her. This is an extremely tough time everyone one with the cost of living I’m aware. With mum physically unable to work and dad out of work at this point in time with his health and needing to be with mum.
It has been tough with the cost of living. Getting to appointments for treatment in the city, parking costs, groceries ect. Normally wouldn’t ask for help, but anything big or small would be immensely appreciated by us all!
We would also love to take her somewhere special as a family before she is too unwell going through treatment. I hope to raise enough to put her mind at peace.
