On Wednesday evening, our 80-year-old mother’s life changed in an instant. While simply walking near Hermosa Drive and Vista Chino in Palm Springs, she was struck by a hit-and-run driver who fled the scene, leaving her seriously injured. Instead of receiving the compassion every person deserves, she was left to face unimaginable pain while strangers rushed to her safety in the middle of the road. She is not out of the woods yet and still faces numerous surgeries, along with a long and difficult road to recovery. She will need ongoing care and support every step of the way.
