Help My Mother After the Sudden Loss of Her Husband

My name is Luis Gutiérrez, and I am raising $20.000 to help my mother survive the sudden loss of her husband, Jonathan, who passed away unexpectedly from leukemia at only 47 years old.

Jonathan was the father of my two younger siblings, Isabella, 11, and Josué, 4. He was also the main provider for their home in Chile, covering their monthly rent of about $750 USD while my mother paid for food, utilities, and the children’s needs.

My mother is now grieving the love of her life while trying to keep a roof over her children’s heads.

She has always been a hardworking woman. After leaving Venezuela because of the crisis there, she and Jonathan rebuilt their lives in Chile from nothing. Jonathan could not practice law there despite earning his degree in Venezuela, so he sold popcorn on the streets, worked as a waiter, and took any honest job he could to support his family. My mother worked as an esthetician, doing skin care treatments, massages, and beauty services.

They lived paycheck to paycheck, but together they made it work.

Now everything has changed.

I live in the United States as a permanent resident, and I am doing everything I can to help. But I also support my own household here, with about $4,500 in monthly expenses, including rent, bills, transportation, insurance, and the cost of caring for my wife and our young daughter. My wife has only recently started working, so I cannot financially support two households in two different countries by myself.

The funds raised will help cover:

Rent and basic living expenses.
Food, utilities, and school needs for Isabella and Josué.
A $400 household gas debt Jonathan left behind.
Moving costs if my mother needs to relocate to a smaller, more affordable home.
Passports, travel expenses, and future legal steps toward family reunification when possible.

If I could carry this alone, I would. But right now my mother needs help, stability, and time to grieve without the immediate fear of losing her home.

Any donation or share means more than words can express.

Thank you for helping my mother, Isabella, and Josué through the most painful chapter of our lives.
