Hi everyone, we are Suzie and Denise, Zuzana's two daughters.

On February 21st, we received the most difficult news of our lives —our mom, Zuzana, was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic pancreatic cancer. It’s an aggressive and terminal illness that has already spread to her liver and lungs.

She started chemotherapy in early March, and we’re exploring every possible treatment, including alternative and targeted therapies. Our goal is to give her the best chance at more time, with the best quality of life.

On April 4th, mom suffered a severe stroke in the right side of her brain. This left her unable to use her left side and in the hospital with brain swelling and bleeding for a full week. She eventually was able to go back home and try to recover from the stroke to be strong enough to continue with chemo.

Most recently, on May 10th, with chemo on pause due to her stroke, mom was admitted into hospital for severe dehydration and weakness as the cancer keeps spreading. She is currently trying to regain enough strength to come home again. At this stage, she cannot walk or eat much on her own.

Over these past two and a half months, we have had to close our family businesses, the Bengal and Springer Spaniel breeding, to focus entirely on her care. The kennels will be closing soon too.

Mom is only 59. She is vibrant, loving, and full of life—the kind of person who brightened every room she entered. Last November she was on holiday in Mexico, been busy being the best grandma, still going to zumba in February and working full time. But now, she is in the fight of her life.

Suzie has come back from Australia with her three year old daughter to help take care of mom while her partner must remain back home. Denise lives with her partner and three sons (age 4, 3 and 7 months) helping as much as she can. We both really value family and are extremely close with our beautiful mother.
