PLEASE HELP OUR MOM!!! You all remember our Mom Mrs. Westerfield who has always been one of the most giving and careing person. She always opened her home to everyone. My Mom has been put in a bad position from a misleading insurance agent!!
My Mom purchased an Indemnity Policy in May 2014, she pays her premium every month. When we found out she needed a caretaker we contacted her insurance agent to see what we needed to do to start coverage, what would be covered and how do we file claims. So we hired a Care Agency to do 3 days a week and my sister left her job to do the other 4 days a week of care. The care agency and my sister started doing to the care for my Mom in . The policy is an Indemnity Policy which is paid directly to my Mom and then she would be responsible to pay the Care Agency and my sister. The services started in September and after 11 weeks we were told that none of the claims would be paid. When we contacted the agent an told her that none of the claims would be covered, her reply was "Oh I thought those services would be covered" The Insurance Company informed us that the services weren't covered under the policy that was sold to her.
We would never had hired an Agency and my sister would never have left her job to do our Mom's care. We have contacted an Attorney, we have filed grivenances with State of Missouri Insurance.
We have contacted Southern Illinois Visiting Nurses to recieve assistance with her care. In that it will take 4 to 6 weeks to put in place.
In the meantime the care has to still continue. The care agency comes 2 days a week and my sister does the other 5 days. The care has to stay in place!!!
The past care bills need to be paid, and each week the bills keep going up for her care. In that again the care has to stay in place until we can get the other care assistance in place.
Our Mom only lives on her ssi an a very small pension, she has not assets and lives in low income assisted housing. Please dont let the misguiding of this insurance agent lead to my Mom suffering any more financial hardship.
If you could please find it in your heart to help her, you would be making more of a differnce than you know.
