Hello, my family and I are asking for help to support our mom during a difficult time. In April, my mom (Gina) lost strength in her right leg out of nowhere. She woke up at 5 AM, prepared to leave for another 11-hour shift, but found herself unable to move her leg, the right side of her body completely immobile and in excruciating pain. She was ambulanced to the hospital, where after staying for 3 days and running many tests, the doctors could not find any answers. Only through many sessions of physical therapy could she walk again and return to work after 12 weeks. She still experiences extreme pain in her leg, and being on her feet at work causes her right ankle to swell in pain, even with the assistance of her walker. This return to work was despite her doctor's suggestion because her short-term disability was ending, and she needed to pay bills. Her insurance only covered a portion of her medical bills. Prior to her injury, she worked 55 hours a week. Since she's returned to work, she has had to reduce her hours due to her injury. She is struggling to pay living expenses and the piling medical bills.
Alongside the health issues with her leg, she has had an ongoing cough for months now, so intense that it has caused her to throw up, and at one of the many appointments she attended to find answers, they instead found that she will have to get a hysterectomy due to a substantial anterior fibroid. Her hysterectomy is scheduled for the end of August, and she will have to take off another 2 weeks of work to heal from the invasive surgery.
We are asking for help to pay for the medical bills for her leg and hysterectomy, as well as living expenses, as she heals from surgery. My mom is such an incredible mom who has given up so much to raise us when she was still so young, and we want to do whatever we can to help her at this time. Unfortunately, none of us are in a financial position to help her as much as we wish we could. Please consider donating if you are able to help, and please share this GoFundMe. We appreciate any help, thank you.
