Help Our Mom Get Life-Saving Surgery

We’re raising money for our mom, who is having urgent, life-saving surgery TODAY: 12/12/25. She’s been suffering for years, and most people don’t know how hard things have been for her.

Our mom has had chronic health issues her whole life since getting diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease in her early twenties. Crohn’s is an auto-immune disease that attacks the bodies intestines and as a side effect results in weakened bones and vitamin deficiencies. One of the places in which her body has seen a lot of deterioration is in her jawbone and the bones of her face. The deterioration has resulted in chronic infections, and our mom was told back in 2020 that she would eventually need an intense surgery to fully heal it, but she kept putting it off because our family finances were unstable and she has always chosen to take care of us first. 

Living in a house with 11 people, there’s always been a lot of pressing financial needs. She’s always sacrificed so that we didn’t go without. After a string of bad financial choices made completely outside of our mom’s control, we are in a place now where there are no savings, no 401k’s, no loan options, no insurance— nothing that could possibly help pay to make this surgery happen. It was a painful, long journey that found us here, but unfortunately here we are, in desperate need of help. 

Now her infection has spread dangerously close to a major artery, and doctors have told her that she cannot wait anymore. They will need to go in and carefully clean out the infection around this artery, do multiple bone grafts, and get everything in order so that infections won’t continue. The doctors told her that if she leaves any little impact to the head could knock the infection and result in sepsis, spreading the infection to her brain. She has chosen the cheapest option possible, and is even doing what is normally a sedated, 6 hour long procedure with just local anesthetics to save money, but will still owe $24,000 out of pocket to allow this surgery to happen. She will also need to recover for at least two weeks.

We’re scared. Our mom has been strong for us for years. Now we need to be strong for her. If there was any other financial answer we could find, we would have chosen it by now— but our only option is to send our mom into this surgery and pray that our friends and family can donate and help us before the bill is due.
