Help Our Mom Find Comfort in Her Final Months

Donation protected
3/10/25 Update:
Hi everyone ♡
Thank you for helping us reach our first milestone. It is so hard to ask for help, but the outpouring of love and support from this community in the last week has shown us how important it is to reach out when in need. We are forever grateful.

After touring assisted living options, we’ve learned it will cost $7,000-$8,000 per month to ensure our mom is in a safe, comfortable place, and receiving a high level of care as she transitions (sad word). Because of this new information, we’re updating our goal to meet that need, and hopefully will be able to make a few more special memories with our mom before she goes.

Your donations will go toward:
  • Full, required care for our mom, and transportation to appointments
  • Personal essentials our mom is in immediate need of (clothes, health and beauty products)
  • Furnishings for her new space, mobility tools (wheel chair, walker)
  • Flights for her children and grandchildren to visit as much as possible during her final days
  • Local family outings to help us make memories and feel as "normal" as possible

We truly cannot thank you enough for your incredible generosity — your kindness has meant everything to our mom. We have shown her every single contribution and kind word you have shared, and you have made our mom feel so valued and appreciated in a time that can feel hopeless. You have changed her life! Thank you SO MUCH.

With love,
Ash, Zach, Riss, Dom

Hi everyone♡

If you know one of us, you know our mom, Helen Bing—because chances are, she treated you like she was your mom, too, or your best friend.

She’s the kind of person who never met a stranger—only future family. The kind of mom who made sure everyone was fed, who never let you leave without a hug, and who always knew exactly what to say (or when to just sit beside you in silence). She has been the heart of not only our family but of so many others who were lucky enough to cross her path. She has always been generous with her smiles, affection, praise, easy laughs, and calling you “Sweetie, Pumpkin, Beautiful, Sugar, etc”

That’s why this is so incredibly hard to share.

Recently, we received the heartbreaking news that our mom has less than six months to live—likely even less.

She’s only 59 and has already fought more battles than anyone should have to. She recently overcame Stage 4 breast cancer, a fight that cost her one of her breasts but never her spirit. She was determined to push through, and she did. Still with a smile and a kind word for anyone she encountered.

But now, the cancer is back. And this time, it’s everywhere.

She has been diagnosed with metastatic cancer, with various tumors and nodules in different locations, including both of her lungs.

Because of everything her body has been through, she now has very limited mobility and needs help with everyday things. Our biggest priority right now is making sure she has a safe, comfortable place to live and the support she needs, so she doesn’t have to worry about anything except spending time with family and feeling at peace.

Why We’re Asking for Help

The expenses have become insurmountable. We’re raising funds to help cover:

Living costs & care – Whether it’s in-home care or a facility, we want to make sure she’s somewhere she feels safe and supported. This would also include transportation to appts when needed and special medical equipment that would allow her more comfort in her day to day, and furnishing her living space. All four of us work full time and are doing our best to be with her as much as possible but we need additional help.

A few small joys (if we raise extra) – If we’re lucky enough to go beyond our goal, we’d love to give her some great meals and memories, maybe a few experiences to make these last few months special and help her feel loved, appreciated, and celebrated.

How You Can Help

Every small bit helps. If you’re able to donate, we would be endlessly grateful. If you can’t, sharing this fundraiser would mean just as much.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your love, support, and kindness. It truly means everything to us.

With love,
Marissa, Dominic, Zachary & Ashley or as many of you call each of us: “Bing”
