Our family is going through one of the most difficult times of our lives. Our mother, Jacqui, is currently in the ICU fighting for her life, and we are asking for support, prayers, and help during this incredibly painful time.

Recently she lost her job and did not have any money or medical insurance to pay for her insulin so she stopped taking it. Because she is diabetic and needs to have insulin, the lack of the medication caused her blood sugar to spike to dangerous levels and taint her blood. Due to high blood sugar levels for a prolonged period of time, her kidneys shut down. Once her kidneys shut down she developed an infection and became septic. Due to all of this her potassium levels spiked and there was not enough oxygen getting to her brain and heart. Her blood pressure went dangerously low and she began to be confused. When she reached the emergency room she could no longer walk and was barely conscious.

She was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit. The doctors and nurses are doing everything they can to save her life. Watching someone you love so deeply struggle like this is something no family is ever prepared for. The emotional and financial stress has become overwhelming. We want to be able to focus on being by her side and supporting her through this fight, rather than worrying about how we will cover these costs.
