Dear Family and Friends,
Our mom was hospitalized on Jan. 29th, due to contracting COVID-19. The virus viciously attacked her respiratory system almost immediately. She was intubated quickly after arriving, as her oxygen levels were dangerously low. While she was intubated, and in a medically induced coma for 3 weeks, a lung began to fail. On March 2nd, she underwent a Tracheostomy as she was unable to tolerate the 3rd extubation attempt. She is fighting but it will be a long journey to recovery.
Our loving mom, Gisela, moved to Mexico 6 months ago to be closer to family, specifically to be near her elderly mother. Unfortunately, our mom doesn't have health insurance and the health care system there is much different.
The patients family is in charge of supplying all of the medications, personal hygiene products, and even medical equipment. We are raising money to offset the occurring medical expenses as she continues to receive treatment. We are asking for your support during this extraordinarily difficult time. Any donation, big or small, could really make a difference. All proceeds will be directed towards medical expenses.
