Our family is going through something we never imagined we would face. My mom was recently diagnosed with cancer in June of last year. She had surgery immediately following diagnosis to remove the part of her tongue that was cancerous. Then she started radiation for 6 six weeks and we thought she had beat it.
At her checkup at the end of December we learned that the cancer had come back. It’s been one battle after another since finding out. She hasn’t been able to really speak or eat because of the pain in her mouth and throat which has made her extremely weak. Now she is currently in the hospital with a feeding tube and a trac. We were hoping to get her into rehab soon to get her some strength back but we found out a couple days ago that the cancer has now spread to her throat. Before being able to move to rehab she will get a round of chemotherapy.
She is the heart of our family — a loving wife, an incredible mom, and someone who has always been there for others whenever they needed help. Now she is facing the hardest battle of her life.
As she begins treatments again, doctor visits, and everything that comes with fighting cancer, the medical expenses are already piling up. My dad is doing everything he can to take care of her and keep things together, but the financial stress of treatment, medications, hospital visits, and time away from work is becoming overwhelming.
Watching someone you love go through this is incredibly difficult, and the last thing we want my parents worrying about right now is how they’re going to afford the care she needs.
That’s why we created this GoFundMe — to help lift some of that burden so they can focus on what truly matters: her healing and our family staying strong together during this fight.
Any donation, no matter how small, will go directly toward medical bills, treatments, and helping my parents get through this incredibly challenging time. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this page would mean just as much to us.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your kindness, support, prayers, and love. It truly means more than words can express as we stand beside my mom while she fights this battle.
